    Automate a add-in process

    Hello,

I have a add-in " Formula - To - Value ", when I use this feature it converts all formulas into simple numbers, this helps me in importing the Excel Data, if I don't use this add in the import fails.

Now I am trying to convert this manual process in automation, so that everytime I don't have to open the Excel File - click on the add-in and convert all the formulas in values.

I tried recording a macro for this but this doesn't work, may I please request if anyone can spread some light on this, help and guidance will be appreciated.
    Regards

    The Excel Boy

    Hi

I think we are going to need a bit more info than this.

How about a sample file showing your data, the code for your conversion routine, and some steps that you want to take to make things happen in your new routine.

    hi rylo,

I can provide you with the file which I work on daily basis, you click on any cell you will find that the numbers which are displayed have a formula attached to it at the back end, do u have the Formula-To-Value Add In with you, if u have that then select the desired cells which formula u want to convert into values, click on the add-in once u select the desired cells, and then check those selected cells u will find only values the add-in removes the formula.

I want to automate this step.

    Hi

Sounds like the addin is basically a copy / paste values activity.

So why don't you just highlight the column(s), copy and paste values? Or are there only certain cells that you want this to action?

Really need more info than you have provided. Can you attach a sample file and explain the before / after scenario on sheets in that file.

    hi rylo,

Sure I can do this for you. I will highlight the cells before converting them to value using the add-in, I will provide u the link of this add-in u can get it, its free of cost, just install it in your excel, and follow my previous posts on how to use it.

Usually I need to convert the entire excel file data in values, this selective cells was just an example I used here to explain.

    Please find enclosed the attachment.

Download the Formula-Value software from the following :

    Hi

    Missed the attachment....

Make sure you zip the file before trying to attach, and note there are size restrictions.
