    Corrupted file ?

I have a file which is doing two things that are strange
    1. when I try to save ,or save as, ":2" is added to the file name in the titlebar but the file name itself does not contain ":2" nor is it saved with it
    2. when I'm using the activex toolbar and select different controls the properties window does not switch to that control.

If I have to assume that the file is corrupted is the anyway to avoid redoing controls (listboxes,Buttons etc)

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello SuitedAcces,

You can save your VBA modules to disk, and load them back into a new project.

    How to Save VBA Modules
    1. While in the VBE, Double Click the module you want to save to disk.
    2. Press ALT&F to display the File Menu
    3. Press E to Export the module.
    4. The Export File dialog will be displayed.
    5. You now have the options of changing the module name and the folder.
    6. Press Enter to Save the module, or Esc to Cancel
    7. Repeat these steps for each module.
Use the Import File... under the File Menu to add the modules to your new project.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

SA, I think you have two windows open in the same file, which has some issues with ActiveX controls. With a single window open, there should be no colon in the titles. And if you do Window, you should see only one in the list at the bottom.

    Close one of the windows.

    Thanks shg.
Under the 'windows' menu I am showing two files of the same name even though I save as under a different name.
I close one and both of them close.
I have no clue how this happened.
The problem is that I only show one copy in my documents so I'm at a loss for how to resolve it.

Sorry, I don't have another suggestion. Perhaps something to do with custom views, but I don't use them ...

If you sort it out elesewhere, please post back and let us know.

I did a search for this file and came up with two results both saved at the same time one shows it is saved in My Documents (that is the path it shows no C:... just My Documents), the other shows it is saved in C:\Documents and Settings\User#1\My Documents.
I delete either one and redo the search and the file can't be found.
I never changed the file that I was saving in while in Excel, so this ia a mystery to me.
