Post Copy Values across Network Directories

I have a Master file that looks at 'Cert' files in another directory on the Network.
The Master file has a column AC with the File name of the 'Cert' file.
The adjacent cell in column AD concatenates this filename with the path and cell reference.
A Macro then copies the full path, file name and cell address into the adjacent cell in Column AE. This then give the value in the 'Cert' File.

This works on my home computer, but does not work over a network.
On a Network the Open File Dialog box opens to allow manual selection.

I attach a zipped file of the excel files. The Macro button runs the macro.
The File path is set in Cell AD1

    Many Thanks for any help
    Pete

not sure but have you mapped network drive first? i.e assigned path to a drive e.g. "k"

The Network drives are Mapped down to a subdirectory
eg Projects Directory on the Network Drive is 'N'
this is however a sub directory of another Network drive.

    ok next question
if you say put in a1 =
then navigate to your network file /open and
    click on any used cell
    hit enter
1.what is shown as path in a1
    2.save book and re-open
then what is shown as path a1

    Question

When I have both Work books open and in the Master Workbook click in a cell and type + (or =) and then change the active window to the other workbook (3416681 Supplier01 Payment cert) and select the cell having a value I get the following:

=+'[3416681 Supplier01 Payment cert.xls]Sheet1'!$F$8 Displays as the value

If I then close the work book (3416681 Supplier01 Payment cert)

The file path increases to include the full path:
    =+'H:\My Documents\WORKING DIRECTORY\MONTH END\TEST MONTHEND\21000 BUILDINGA\15.0 Payment Certificates\[3416681 Supplier01 Payment cert.xls]Sheet1'!$F$8 Still displays as the value

If the Master Workbook is Saved, closed and reopened the full path is held and value displayed.
