    Counting Cells with Conditional Formatting

I need to count the number of cells that have a conditional formatting applied, and separate it by quantity with each condition present.

If one cell is equal to another one (located on a different worksheet), the cell pattern should be highlighted Green. If not, it will be highlighted Red. I need to count how many Green and Red cells there are.

I used this thread as a reference and got almost to my goal. The method outlined in this thread works fine, however the problem I am running into is that I cannot use any cell references to make this work, it has to be an actual value (i.e. 'Michigan' or '100') instead of =Sheet1!A1. The above example uses an actual numerical value, not a reference.

    Any ideas?

It's complicated to determine which cells have conditional formatting applied.

What's easy is to use the conditional formatting formula to another column, and then use that value both for counting and conditional formatting.
