    alternative to .Select?

Hi - I am using Excel '97 (vba5?) and have a table with cells which are each two merged cells eg C5:C6. However sometimes I want to add or remove a comment in cell eg C6 while retaining content in C5. I need to check the status of the table cell and while the following works - is there a better way without using .Select?

Very helpful forum but you all convinced me to eradicate .Select wherever possible and I cannot see a way round this one!
    cheers

    Hello b1ll,

Here is how to check if a cell is part of a merged cell group.
