Macro for Text to columns

I would like to create a macro for for the text to column process in excel but it's not working when i record..hoping someone can help me with it.

what i want to do is change the columns E F G starting from row 7 to 500, for it to convert the column data format to DATE (DMY).
then use the cell format "DATE" to show dd-mmm-yyyy (14-Mar-2008).

when i record it it only either does the cell format or the text to column and one process is repeated.

Please Help with this issue, there are lots of spreadsheets that need the date corrected and this would be the best way to correct a mistake made long before my time.
