Hi, i've stumbled over this little issue, is it possible to suppress the "read-only recommended" dialog box when opening a workbook that had this option checked under options > security tab?
regular application.workbooks.open will get a prompt.

Got another question for you regarding this, do you know if it is possible to block this thing all together? My new problem is that these xls files will not be opened via code, but executed from a dos prompt, so this readonlyrecomment hang the process. Or is there a way to hit enter out of dos prompt?Originally Posted by VBA Noob
