contour graphs on excel?

I'm looking to make a contour graph with:
X-axis being dates (increasing to the right)
Y-axis being different lake water depth(increasing downward)
and Color from red to blue on the graph indicating various temperatures with legend indicating which color is which temperature.

Is it possible to do that on macros or an add-in or can excel already can do that?
I am using Excel 2003.

I tried that add-in, it doesn't have that kind of option. only topographical type graphs
I can't get the surface chart to work either.
Or is there any other programs anyone know that can do this kind of graphs easier?
