Start Macro With An If Statement

I need to activate a Macro when cell A1 contains the word “GO”

I have this code so far which work’s fine if I enter the trigger word GO manually

If Intersect(Target, Range("A1")) Is Nothing Then
    Exit Sub
    End If

'Now make sure the new value for it is 1
    If Range("A1") = "GO" Then
    MACRO1
    End If
    End Sub

But now I need to add an if statement
    =IF((B1<B2),"GO","STOP") into cell A1

but it will not activate the macro.

does anyone know what I am doing wrong

    thanks
