    access or Excel

Hello, I wonder if somebody could tell me the advantage of having a datamanagment aplication trhough excel or Access.
The reason that I am asking is because I am really familair with excel but not with access, and in the past I made my excel sheet work fine with data except when amount of data is too large, at that point the routines get very slow going trhough the whole collection of data just to find it.

Does any body has enoguh knowledge to tell me the main advantage to use access and also if will be easy to use vba?

Also any idea if there is any forum similar to this but in access?

best regards and many thanks to all the people that alwasy has help me.

    Access or Excel

Here's a general comparison of Excel and Access:

    For on-line MS Access help....
This site has some great talent:

and this is the lead page for the Microsoft Newsgroups:

Regarding VBA, MS Access has a different object model from Excel. If you are already comfortable with VBA, then the web resources above can help. The biggest obstacle will not be VBA, though. It will be training yourself to expoit Access' database functionality. Again, the above websites can help.

    I hope that helps.
