macro to suit

hi guys this may be a little long winded but what im trying to do is get a macro to input data to another sheet at the press of a button in the next available line.
i know this is possible but cant get it to do it so any help is gratefully received.

i have 2 sheets labelled purchase order and purchase order numbers

in cell b3 of purchase order numbers i have a supplier name which should correspond to purchase order sheet and cell b16 which i have named SUPPLIER.

the trouble is that this cell is actually a merged cell and i can be a bit long winded and make the macro reformat the cell etc etc but i cant get it to go in to the next available cell.

ie if b2 already has something in put i would need it to go into cell b3

all help would be nice

Don't use merged cells.

This will work if your cells are only merged horizontally

This will work in any case - but still, don't merge cells. It's what Excel chavs do.
