Mapping Excel hyperlinks

I have a need wherein i have to map out hyperlinks to their destinations without opening excel file. Furthermore i may have Excel1.xls having hyperlinks pointing to Excel2.xls and Excel2.xls having hyperlinks pointing to Excel3.xls. I want to map out the flow without having any previous knowledge of what is mapped where?
Is there any tool out there which can allow me to do this or can it be done programmaticaly?
