    Tax Calculator

I need help with my tax calculator.

I tried making my own tax calculator using Worksheet functions but it just can't be done I guess. I believe I need a Macro.

I have no idea how to use VB.

I'm going to attach a copy of the Excel Sheet I'm working on.

I hope someone can help me with this. Any Tutorials will be greatly appreciated.

    Is this homework?
What makes you think that macros are needed? You should be able to use WorkSheet Functions.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi Roy,

Nope it's not homework. But yeah it has something to do with one of my subjects.

Okay I'll try figuring it out using worksheet functions. If you say it can be done then I believe you.

Thanks. Btw, Can you give me an example of what IF formula to use?

It's not clear to me looking at the workbook what the tax rules are.

I need help with this formula I've been trying to make. I want to have the Total tax computed automatically. There is so much data it can't fit using the IF formula. Please help. I appreciate it.

    Basic Pay 10000
    Exception Status S
    Less: Total Tax 1770.75
    Net Pay 8229.25

I need a Formula or Macro to compute the Total Tax automatically.

10,000 is given. 6667 does come from Exception Status of S in Column labeled 6. 6667 was subtracted from 10,000 because it was the amount closest yet lower than 10,000. Then multiply the answer by the rate in Column labeled 6 which is 25%. The answer which is 833.25 is then added with 937.5 which can also be found in Column labeled 6.

    10,000
    - 6,667
    3,333 x 25% = 833.25
    ....................+ 937.50
    ....................1,770.75

    This is the tax table:

    SEMI-MONTHLY TAX TABLE

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

    Exception 20.83 104.17 354.17 937.5 2083.33 5208.33
    Status 5% 10% 15% 20% 25% 30% 32%

    S 20 1 833 1250 2083 3750 6667 11250 21337
    HF 25 1 1042 1458 2292 3958 6875 11458 21875
    ME 32 1 1333 1750 2583 4250 7167 11750 22167
    HF1 33 1 1375 1792 2625 4292 7208 11792 22208
    HF2 41 1 1708 2125 2958 4625 7542 12125 22542
    HF3 49 1 2042 2458 3292 4958 7875 12458 22875
    HF4 57 1 2375 2792 3625 5292 8208 12792 23208
    ME1 40 1 1667 2083 2917 4583 7500 12083 22500
    ME2 48 1 2000 2417 3250 4917 7833 12417 22833
    ME3 56 1 2333 2750 3583 5250 8167 12750 23167
    ME4 64 1 2667 3083 3917 5583 8500 13083 23500

    Here's another example.

A person with an exception status of ME earned 13,000. Tax payable would be 2458.33.

    13000
    - 11750

    1250 x 30% = 375
    +2083.33
    2458.33

I'd like to include the Exception Status in the formula. For example I type in 13,000 then type in ME as the Exception Status. Then it automatically calculates for the Tax Payable.

    Thanks I appreciate it.
