Originally, I thought I missed an important reference. I found out I had everything I needed.

I then thought it might have been because I uninstalled internet explorer because I use firefox. Re-installing internet explorer with "add & remove components" did not solve the problem.

I then thought it might have been the update from IE 6 to IE 7 so I reset all IE settings. I don't use IE so I really didn't care.

What finally worked was restarting the computer. Apparently, I had installed a program... River Past Audio Converter... and forgot to restart the computer. This solved the problem :/

I'm just trying to save some people the trouble I went through.
