macro which is able to access combobox

I have a combo box which is populated via an SQL query

I have just written a macro and assigned it to a button. I would like to be able to use the text value of the combo box in my macro. Is there a way to do this?

I don't want to use the value of the combo box, until I click on my own macro button. ie: i know how to write the value of the combo box to a cell when tiggering it via the "change" in a priv sub, but in this case, i just want the combo box to do nothing until i click my own macro
