    if cell = "smooth" then clear a certain cell

    This should be very basic... i need to clear a cell based on a value in another cell

    here is what i have

    Sub clearcell()

    If Worksheets(Sheet8).Cells(20, 3).Value = "Smooth" Then
    `i need to clear cell C22
    End If
    End Sub

    it does not work for me and when i go to run the macro it says "subscruipt out of range"

    i also added an end if
