graph on the push of a button

    hello,
its been some time since i have used VBA and i am now in need of a little help.

i was wondering if it would be at all possible to have a large set of data over a series of dates and when the user enters a date range when prompted, that date range worth of data is selected and automatically created into a graph of a curtain format which is brought up on screen and then discarded when finished with?
    cheers

Could you post an example spreadsheet with the graph how you would like it to look? (I have no idea what a curtain format graph is :-S)

sorry. but good thing you asked as i think i'm a little bit over my head with this and need a bit of assistance with the formatting before i even start graphing..

i have two files one with the department, activity and a yearly schedule based on the activities frequency and the other with the category if this activity. i need to some how transfer these categories into the one file accurately.
the calendar of the year will be used to plot the weeks when these activities are to be taking place. this is done so a weekly graph, Month to date and year to date graph can be produced from this data in a format similar to that i have supplied.

i have had a bit of trouble sorting the data so that it is layed out appropriately for this graph with the idea of the program having ability to adapt to extra data being added or the frequency of the activity being changed.

cheers. i would appreciate any help. cheers

    more info needed

    Hi
Which columns (and sheets) should be used as data source for your graph (both x and y axis)?

the X axis will be the different departments (there will be more then three) and then the Y axis will be the amount of jobs in that category completed within that year/month/week. then when that is graphed they can be used to compare against the planned in the same format, ether on the same graph or not.

    cheers

    Unhappy

would anyone be able to help me out with this? or point me in the direction of the right functions of type of structure i should use to go about sorting and then counting the amount of activities over a range of dates?
    as i am rather stuck!

also would it be possible to graph the amount of times that the activities take place over a range of dates entered by the user and then the graph will be discarded when it is finished with?

    cheers
