Recognize "formulas "result" as "typed data", through and through.

    Hi again,

Would someone know how to have Excel recognize a "formulas' "result" as if it were "typed data"... Get me? I mean, when I concatenate (or do any function) cells, the macro that has those cells as a condition just decides to ignore them -- i.e., when I "=CONCATENATE IF" A1 into B1, nothing happens in C1 (which is what I want). But when I TYPE data into A1, I get what I expect. Any ideas?

    Thanx again,
    Jeff

You need to clarify what exactly is the problem. Are you using formulas or macro? You have mentioned both. You may take the example of Concatenate and tell us what exactly you want with it and what is the problem.

    Hi,

I'm trying to concatenate a value in 1A1 from 2A1 (sheet 1/sheet 2, respectively), in order to "activate" sheet 1's macro result into 1B2 (it inputs a static Today() function), which I want to concatenate to 1A2. However, the macro (in fact, none that I've seen) will "see" the concatenation (or any formula result) in 1A1. It only operates off "direct" input (into 1A1).

    Thanx,
    Jeff

    Sorry Jeff,

I am still not with you. I do not understand which two cell values you want to concatenate in which cell. Is it A1(sheet1) & A1(sheet2) in B2(sheet2) ? What is the macro for? Or you are trying to say that you want to trigger the macro by change in value of A1 which you cannot do unless you directly input some thing in A1? And that changing the value in A1 by any other means does trigger the macro execution? You will need to explain in smaller and simple sentences, sort of step-by-step what you are trying to achieve.

A V Veerkar, thanx for the replies... actually, originally, I had an "ambiguous name conflict" w/2 macros in a single WS that i initially thought could not be combined into one macro. It took a while, but I finally figured it out! Now I don't need to utilize multiple WS or superfluous formulas to get around this conflict anymore.

    Thanx again,
    Jeff
