    Automtically filling non consecutive cells

Hi, Total newbie with a problem I cannot solve. I want to be able to put a number in a cell and for excel to then automatically put that number into each cell next but one cell going down 10 times. So for example if I enter the number 50 in cell D10. When I click out of the cell I'd like excel to automatically put 50 into cells D12, D14, D16 etc. Only just started using simple macros and this one has me stumped.
    Hope you can help. Thanks

Smile Thanks very much. Just a couple of issues with the answer

Hi, Thanks very much for the fast response. It is very good. It doesn't quite do what I want though. I don't think I explained myself well enough. I am trying to create a score sheet. I would like to enter the total amount amount once in a cell and for that amount to be automatically entered in the cells next but one below (as per the attached sample).
However if one of the students needs a different total (doesn't happen often but one student might have a total of 49 when all the others have 50). I would like to be able to change that particular cell manually (Don't know whether this is possible??). When I tried that about 6 rows down from the start cell with the code given it automatically filled the next 10 cells below. That will affect the total scores for the group which are totalled at the bottom. Hope I've explained myself better this time and the sample part of the spreadsheet helps. I also need to be able to use the code for about 40 columns as I'm working out scores and averages over a several week period.
Thanks for your patience. (If you got this far!!)
