How to import data from a program into excel at a certain time interval?

Hi,
I have a program (non excel) that measures data. The data is measured 1 time every 2 seconds.

Now it would be great if tehre were a way to import the data vaules to a new row in excel every time the values chages in the non excel program.

There is no typical windows copy/paste function for the data table in the program but there is a way of saving the data table to an excel spreadsheet.

IS it possible to somehow force the program to save the values to an excel sheet at a certain time interval and then copying teh values from this spread sheet to a new row in a "results" sheet to log data?

with the function

 FileDateTime()

you could retrieve the saved date and time(including Seconds) of any file.
Copying data from the file exported to another sheet is easy too.

I dont understand exacly what you really need.
do you need:
a)That Excell imports the data every 2 seconds
b)That your other program exports the data every 2 seconds?

In case it is option a. I would suggest you better let the program run all the cycles it needs, and when ready, export one file with all the measurements and use that file to work on.

The goal is the to get a set of vaules from one program into a new row in excel once every 2 seconds so that the data can be used to plot graphs.

Can this be done?
