Best way to aggregate?

Hello,

I'm searching for the best way to aggregate a set of values. For example, I'm dealing with URL's. Many of these URL's can have the same domain name. I'd like to segment the URL to show the domain and then the count of overall URL's for that domain. I'm thinking this would be best served within an array but I'm learning on the experts for ideas/examples.
