Row and reference of a button

I have scanned the forum and cannot seem to get a simple answer on how to do this, sorry i am only a newbie programmer.

I have a button that when pressed i would like to perform serveral actions based on the reference of the button. How can i get this?

Ultimately when the button is pressed i would like to insert a row where the button is located, copy cells along this row, and delete rows relative to this button.

One way to do this is to add a comment to the cell in which the button sits and have the name of the button as the comment text.

e.g.

Please Login or Register  to view this content.

and the comment is Button 1
