I have previously posted this problem and got the problem solved. Because things have changed i need to have this sheet adjusted. i use it to arrange players for every hole during golf tournaments. The present sheet (that i have attached) will allow as few as 2 players per hole. i have been informed that it should not assign less than 3 players per hole. the math in the code needs to be adjusted so that it knows to always start with 3 somes and work up from there. i can do the math on a sheet of paper i just don't know how to code the math . the attached sheet is what a member on the forum previously did for me. i take no credit for it, i am not capable doing what this sheet does for me. If i need to supply more info please let me know.

To take the example you posted (65 players, 22 holes), it's not possible to have 3 players on every hole, because that would require 66 players. Reduce the number of holes, or increase the number of players.

my fault i guess i am not being clear about the issue... i don't need every hole to have all 3somes i can't ever have any 2somes.

put in 27 holes and keep the 65 players... you see it makes

2 somes 16
3 somes 11

what i need is it to make 3 somes and 4 somes

If you have 27 holes, and each hole has at least 3 players, that's 81 players minimum. How many foursomes can you make out of negative 16 players?

Your right..... guess i just wasn't thinkin was i. Funny how talking to someone
sometimes makes you see what you need to do . You were right i just need to adjust the number of holes. i caught up in thinking i had to have players teeing off on every hole but i don't have to do that or can't do that if i can't have 2 somes. thanks for kickin my brain in. problem solved
