capturing value from a random cell

I have a list of 500 numbers in column A, and I would like to randomly select some of them. I have generated random numbers between 1 and 500 in column B. What I can't figure out is how to make Excel understand that when I refer to the value in column B I mean a row number that corresponds to a value in column A. In other words I need a function that will return the value at a specific cell address. Thanks for any help.
