There are many ways to do it. However, we need specifics for your needs. Tell us the sheet names and ranges to copy from and where you want them copies to. If you will attach master and slave xls example files it will be easier to help you.

This example might be enough to help you. http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...workbooks.html

your help would be greatly appreciated.

find attached 2 documents. 1 called 'Master list of Contacts' and the other called 'newcontacts'. I get a file called newcontacts everyday and need to add the data in this workbook to the data in the 'Master list of Contacts' workbook.
The number of rows of data that are in the newcontacts book vary everyday. i want to be able to add the newcontact data to the master list without opening the master list.

Name the block in the master and slave xls files as contacts. Include the column names as the first row in the ranges which must match as in your example files.

Put this in a Module and play. You will need to change your master file's name most likely. I assumed that your path for each was the same.
