    Unhappy Excel Protection

    Hi,

Here I need to give access to a master excel sheet only to few users of my choice. This excel sheet is password protected and this is in a shared folder.

Now this excel sheet should be accessible only to the users with their system login ID’s which I define. Even though if others in the network knows the password of the excel sheet they should not be able to open it / access it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Harish S

    Re: Excel Protection

Make the sheet very hidden in the VB Editor then only allow access if the username & password math. I have posted a way to do this previously
    Hope that helps.

    Re: Excel Protection

    Hi RoyUK,

Thanks for the link, The Password Form 2 (Mulitiuser's) it is really helpful...

Can't we give default access based on the system login ID, if the system login ID do not matches with the login ID i defined in Excel sheet, it should close automatically with a popup message "You are not authorized to view this sheet".
Can it be done, in this way?

    Regards,

    Re: Excel Protection

You would need to list the usernames in the sheetthen check against that list using Environ("UserName"). See how the form checks names against the stored list .
