    pivot table column headers

I have attached a spreadsheet illustrating my problem. I have succeeded in creating a pivot table, but it wants to organize my data more or less in an outline style. What I'd like to see is the layout to the right of the pivot table.

I've tried using various pivot table options but so far no success.

Can anyone advise? Feel free to modify my spreadsheet.

    Thanks.

    Will this help? See attached...

I right-clicked the table and went to PivotTable Options...

Then in the Display tab I deselected the Show/Expand Collapse Buttons checkbox

and I selected Classic Pivot Table Layout.... checkbox

Then I selected one of the Subtotals and right-clicked to uncheck the "Subtotal System" item.

    Re: pivot table column headers

    Dear NBVC,

thanks, that is approaching the solution but the column to the left only shows the system at the first row of each particular system. Ideally each row will contain both the system name and the pair. This way I can sort the table by whatever column I want (e.g. which systems are most profitable) without losing the info in column A.

I don't think that can happen with Pivot Tables (at least I don't believe so)...
