    unhide cells depending on drop down box value

    Ok i have a spreadsheet and basically i want to unhide certain cell ranges based on the value of a drop down box (the drop down box is a shape not a data validation one) the values populating the drop down box are in Sheet2 ! A1:A9. i have no idea what i am doing please help.

    You might find conditional formatting acvieves enough. Define a CF using the formula option (UI differs betwen 2003/2010).
    The formula would be like =$A$1="Show" and the conditional format would make the font colour the same as the cell background.
    In 2010 you can easily apply this CF to the whole range of celle to hide. In 2003 copy formats from the firstyou do onto all the others.
