    Put the value of L2 in the left footer

    I've been trying to figure out how to tell my left footer to automatically use the value of whatever "L2" is. How do I do this?

    I tried putting...

    =L2
    in the footer, but it didn't work.

    I'm sure I'm way off and have tried searching this with no luck.
