    Calculate Hours Worked

Okay I am fairly knowledgeable in Excel; however, I cannot figure out how to calculate the following in an excel spreadsheet. I need to be able to show the calculation used in order to get the total number of hours worked for that day, since there are several "breaks" within the day. I have put the cell locations below each time to use as reference when you explain to me. Please help!!! Thank you

Hi NewGirl, and welcome to the forum.

Perhaps the phrase 'fairly knowledgeable' means something different on the east coast.

    Just kidding.. have you tried:

    =D4-C4+F4-E4+H4-G4 ?

Then format that cell as Custom using h:mm.

Paul - Thank you so much for you reply. It worked perfectly, even for this East Coaster! I have never used it for such a calculation before. Thanks again
