Counting dated events

I have data where each date represents a tornado in a state on that date. I have multiple states that have this type of data and need to get data for how many tornadoes occurred on a specific day in each state and then total tornadoes from all the states on that day preferably in a separate continuous column for easy transfer. I have a sample of the data I'll be using. In the end, I'll have more states extended to the right with a lot more dates. If anyone could help me, I need a template to go by that I could morph to what I need. I'm new to excel's macros and only have knowledge of FORTRAN programming. I know I'm asking for a lot but any help would be greatly appreciated.
