Type mismatch

    Type mismatch

    I am getting a type mismatch error.

    When I mouse over the cell reference, value for the cell is "" while the value for changeorder is a number.

    Range("U23") = Range("U23") + ChangeOrder(X, 12)

    If U23 has a null string (as opposed to being blank), then you should do this:
