Macro to perform consolidation (Sum) across multiple excel files

    Hi all,

Read up a fair bit of consolidation posts, but I'm still unable to perform what I wanted.

    Scenario

    1) I have a default excel file (without data)
    2) I have 4-10 excel files (with data) with the exact same worksheet layout as the excel file in (1).
    3) The data are all numbers.
    4) All the files are located in a single folder.

    Problem

I want to do a consolidation sum on all the data from (2) and populate the result into (1).

To-date I only managed to do get the macro to run on a single workbook across multiple worksheet of same layout. The macro code is as follow:

Can anyone shed some light on how should I go ahead for multiple files scenario?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards
    Eugene (ET)

Someone probably can, but I suggest you attach a sample of your data.

Have you looked at the "Consolidate" feature under the "Data" tab? If your column and row headings are the same, Native Excel does the consolidation quite well. If the consolidated sheet is for presentation, you may need to do some reformatting (line inserts, etc) which could be done with a simple macro.

    Hope this helps.
