    Macro buttons

Ok here is my quandary! I am an old Lotus fan and had gotten ok in making Macros and either putting them in to Buttons or creating custom tool Icons and dropping them into the tool bar. With Lotus it was a breeze!!!! I have been using Excel for some time now but just started working back with the Macros! Finally figured out that you had to turn on the Designer tab to get to some of the functionality of the macros. I haven’t been able to find ANYTHING ANYWHERE to tell me how to crate buttons or Icons in the 07 Excel!

    re: Macro buttons

    Hi Nomehunt,

You can add command buttons to worksheets pretty quickly in Excel 2007.

In the ribbon at the top of the screen, look for the Developer tab. (If you don't see it, click the Office button (orb in top left) then click Excel Options. Select Popular on the left side, then select the checkbox next to "Show Developer tab in the Ribbon" and click OK.

Now click on the Developer tab and in the Controls section (should be to the right of the Code section), click the big Insert button. That should display both Form and ActiveX controls, both of which include a Command Button icon. I recommend using ActiveX controls because they're far more flexible, but for beginners it's sometimes easier to go with the Form controls version.

    Hope that helps!
