Transfer Data from one Worksheet to another

    Hello,

Got a real "Doozie" for you.

Per the attached, I have (4) tabs in a workbook. 1st tab (Desision Tree) data in column B (11, 15, 19, 23, 27) are performance scores. Column E shows areas of focus needed based on the score which is indicated in "Red", Yellow" or "Green". Column G determines if training is needed based on the score.

What I am trying to do is have the second tab (Scoring for Training feed) populated with data per Agent number (drop down - B5) on Tab 1.

Here is the "Doozie" part. You will see on Tab 2 there are three columns with the same name (agent names are in order across 1 - 11) and the 4th column has "Training Staus". Need to have only one set of data feed each column - example: Agnet is scored on Monday or particular date, allow that data to feed to Tab 2 per Agnet selected. Wednesday Agents are scored again - this will be the second round of scoring and that data would fill in on tab 2 in the blank for the second round of scoring. Friday, scores will feed in the third column accordingly. The 4th column will tablulate the scores for the three scoring sessions and give a total score which will determine which training the agents will need. This will be color coded "Red", Yellow" or "Green".

Once the scores are filled in accordingly the button on Tab 3 (Data2) will create a report per agent name on the 4th tab (Report2).

I can not figure out how to transfer this data nor have it copy and paste it in the proper columns.

A real "Doozie" for any challengers!

How about some sample results, too, so we can 1-1 compare what you're doing before/after style.

There is sample data in the worksheet. But you can change the data in column B (11 down) to feed data to the other sheet. If you change the number in column B it should chage the "conditional Formating in the adjacent columns.

Feel free to work up what you can.

If you can figure this out I will "Kight" you as GURU!

Yes, I can see how changing some values on sheet1 changes some of the colors. But, as I said above, I don't really want to "figure out" your sheet. Mock up some complete examples on other sheets so I can see 1-1 what's going on. It's not obvious to me.

If you need to add multiple after sheets to show how things keep changing, you can do that, yes?

Re: Transfer Data from one Worksheet to another

Attached is a mock up with sample data for desired results

Sheet one is labeled “Decision Tree”. Data in Column B, Row (11, 15, 19, 23, 27) is feed there based on the above referenced cell (B5) which is a dropdown. That changes the individuals name in cell (A4) (the name ref will not work in this sheet because it is fed from another sheet. But, if you selected in the dropdown (3) the data below will change based on the agents name. The agent number and name both reference each other.

You will notice they are color coded (Conditionally Formatted), if you change the numbers it will change the data across in cell (E) which will then change the data in cell (G).

Here is what I need – the data in column (B) I need it to be fed to the next sheet (Scoring for Training feed) per the agent number reference (“Decision Tree”) and name (Scoring for Training feed).

The trick is to make it feed the columns allocated on (Scoring for Training feed) tab – on (3) three separate days and save each one so it will total in the (4th) column “Training Status”).

What I want to accomplish is to have the supervisors score their agents on three separate days (randomly) – which will be color coded similarly to the data on the (Decision Tree) tab, and come up with a total to determine what the progress has been over those three periods and whether to send them to training as a result.

So for an example if the agent is red, yellow, red on those three scoring periods they will need to go to training for that skill. If they are green, green, green, they may not need training.

Now - Those totals will then feed each agents name on the next tab (Data2). The button at the top of that page will then create a report (click the button for an example) (Hopefully there will not be that many agents needing to go to training.

Getting the data to copy and paste it to the next sheet is very tricky for me. This is where I need your expertise.

Re: Transfer Data from one Worksheet to another

Made a change to the layout of row 4 on the DecisionTree sheets to separate out key pieces of data and adding a new one so we know which test # this is. Then I added a RECORD DATA button connected to the new macro.

    Try it out.

Re: Transfer Data from one Worksheet to another

    Just noticed something.

If you scroll over to column (Y) on the Decision Tree tab under REBUTTALS and CLOSING, you will notice duplicate naming for training modules. You will also notice on the other tabs the same duplicates. I noticed that when the MACRO is run it does not paste data in those available cells.

There should be (5) scores for the five Skills on the Decision Tree tab the scores 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 should then be pasted on the next tab by the score indicated.

Maybe because the data is duplicated or the links are still tied to the data.

If the skil training information is changed, will the MACRO know to paste it in the proper place?

Take a look and let me know what you think.

I think if you hide stuff way off to the right like that and want something done with it, you should point it out. I never even saw that section.

Your question does not make it clear what you expect to happen in this area and I've done nothing regarding it. So treat it like a new question and explain fully. It just looks like a chart to me.

Re: Transfer Data from one Worksheet to another

Actually, the data off to the side is just reference data. Ultimaetly it will feed into Column (B). So it really does not matter where it comes from. The results are still the same, whatever is in column (B) Row 11 down should populate over to the next page.

You have done a great job in capturing the data it's just all of it is not filing all the way down.

So for an example on the Scoring For Training Feed Sheet:

The number (2) from the "Decision Tree (Davis) 1" tab is correct, becasue the (2) matches Row (3) on the Scoring For Training Feed Sheet.

The (3) on the "Decision Tree (Davis) 1" tab is correct, becasue the (3) matches Row (9) on the Scoring For Training Feed Sheet.

However, the (2) on row (8) on the Scoring For Training Feed Sheet should not be there. Not sure where that is being copied from.

As for the other two scores:

The number (2) from the "Decision Tree (Davis) 1" on Row (23) should match the (2) on Row (18) on the Scoring For Training Feed Sheet.

And, The number (3) from the "Decision Tree (Davis) 1" on Row (27) should match the (3) on Row (24) on the Scoring For Training Feed Sheet.

Please disregard the data off to the side. Again it is only reference data.

Hope thtis helps, sorry for the alarm and confusion.

    Let me know.

Re: Transfer Data from one Worksheet to another

I can't really follow the verbal examples. I'm not doing a row-row match, the macro searches for the text string in your sheets and attempts to fill in the correct row. The text needs to match exactly because it searches every time.

Feel free to post up some sheets showing before/after problems, I'll be happy to keep looking at it.

Re: Transfer Data from one Worksheet to another

    See the attachment.

What needs to happen is: the scores (from the Decision Tree) need to match the line reference on the (Scoring for Training feed) sheet.

Per the attached I have attached a worksheet for the logic and the results.

So far example – if you changed the scores in Column B (match what I have in this sheet) and then hit the recording button (each time) it will look something like the attached.

The trick also is to make sure the data is placed in the correct (3) three columns per the agent name.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks

Re: Transfer Data from one Worksheet to another

For me it appears to be working correctly, at least the other sheet we worked on. I don't know what this is you sent, but the column B values in it are dates, not scores.

Re: Transfer Data from one Worksheet to another

    Yes sir,

You are correct, the data in column (B) on the worksheet I sent are dates. The workbook is an explanation to show the logic to et the results I am looking for.

The first worbook I posted is the format. The Decision Tree has trigger data which feeds the Scores tab to get the results. The logic workbook should give a better idea of which data columns feed the columns on the Scores tab.
