    Automatic update

    Hello forum,

I would like to be able to insert data in an excel file in the first two columns and the next columns to be updated based on the formulas of the above cells.
Meaning.. in the attached file.. I want to insert a new name in column A and a new date in column B and I want columns C, D, E, F and G to be automatically updated based on the formulas on the above lines in the corresponding column.
Thus if I fill in A4 and B4, I want C4 to be automatically updated based on the formula of C3 and so on.

Is there a way to do that?

    many thanks in advance

    Re: Automatic update

Just copy C3:G3 down to C4:G4

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Thanks for the answer.. what I really need is that this update to be triggered automatically without having to do "copy"
    Is that possible?

    Re: Automatic update

You can do this easily without the need for VBA by converting the data range into an Excel Table.
Tables automatically forward all formatting and formulas as new rows are added.
Plus they are treated a dynamic ranges and are ideally suited for Pivot Tables.

To convert the data range into an Table
    1. Select the data range
    2. Menu > Insert tab > Insert Table (be sure to check "My table has headers")

Filters are automatically applied, turn then off if desired.

See this article on Working with Excel Tables
You also get the benefit of using structured references in your formulas

Make a visit to YouTube and search on Excel Tables and/or structured references for video demonstrations/tutorials.
