VBA Code: Copying information from one cell to another cell.

    Hello,

I am having a little trouble with my VBA code. Here are the parameters:
I have over 1000 Excel files with 2 worksheets in each. They are titled "Individuals" and "JobCosting".

What I would like to do is to copy cell F1 from "Individuals" to cell L1 in "Job Costing". The trick is that I have to do it about 1,000 times. So what I did is put all the Excel files in a single folder titled "Excel Macro" and wrote a macro to complete the operation for all files in the folder.

However, somewhere along the way I messed up. Instead of copying only cells F1 to L1, the macro copies each and every cell from "individuals" to "job costing" (it deletes any cells in "Job Costing" that may have had data in them).

So where did I go wrong? Why is my macro copying all cells and not just F1?

    Thanks from Seattle.

    Here is the code:

    Hello Peter33,

To make your posts easier to read, copy, and edit please wrap your code. I did it for you this time. Here is how you can do it next time.

    How to wrap your Code
    1. Select all your code using the mouse.
    2. Click on the # icon on the toolbar in the Message window. This will automatically wrap the text you selected with the proper Code tags to create a Code Window in your post.

Use the Bulletin Board Code Tags

    Hello Peter33,

I cleaned up your macro. Indenting your code makes it more easy to read and easier to spot problem. You don't need to use the Copy method when all you want are the values. You do this directly. In VBA , rarely does an object need to be selected or activated before an operation can be performed on it.
