    field setting help in pivot tables

    Hi,

    I have a pivot table with Sales and Budget, if i need to find the difference in pivot table i think i need to use field settings, however i am not getting the result

    I have attached the same file for reference

    Ensure your PivotTable toolbar is available... View|Toolbars|PivotTable

    then while in your pivot table got the PivotTable dropdown in the toolbar.. and select Formulas and select Calculated Field

    In the Name field enter a name, like Difference

    Then in the Formula field, remove the 0 (and leave the = sign)...

    Select Budget_Sales_YTD from the Fields list and click Insert Field and enter a minus (-) sign, then select Sales_Value from the Fields list and click Insert Field

    Click Ok.

    what if I want to modify the fields which are calculated already. in this case:
    field Difference?

    Hi,

    what I meant is . I have added a field called 'Difference' with the formula as
    Budget_Sales_YTD - Sales_value. Is it possible to modify the formula?
    say instead of - i may put +.. I dont find option to modify the formula..

    From the PT toolbar, select Formulas and then Calculated Fields...

    Select the Diff formula from the drop down Name field..

    Change the - to a + and click Modify.

    Click Ok to apply
