    Solver

    Hi,

I'm not very familiar with excel (I generally only use it for the relatively simple plotting; otherwise I prefer maple), but I have an assignment which requires use of the excel solver add-in. Here is an example problem:

Where I need error to be minimal, obviously; therefore predicted k should equal M[A]. The formula in cell C2 (p. k, 1st row) is =E$2*EXP(-$F$2*A2).

How would I go about putting this into solver? Which values are which?

    Pardon?

BTW, I expect you should be minimizing the sum of squared errors, not the sum of absolute errors.

    Re: Solver

The sum of the squares, or the root of the sum of the squares? And I was asking how I would submit the workbook.

If you minimize the sum, you will also minimize its root, yes?
And I was asking how I would submit the workbook.
For that and a fount of other useful information, see the forum rules.
