    Application Onkey Problems

    Hi,

I have a small problem and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

I'm just looking to prevent users from using the print screen or the alt print screen buttons on the keyboard. I have this script that works if I use "39" (Right Arrow)but wont work if I use "42" (Print Screen Button) any ideas why?

    Thank You, Mike

You are trying to prevent screen scraping?

That would only ever work if the Excel window had focus, would it not?

I suspect you would need a keyboard hook for that - not for the faint hearted! If you are interested, I'll see what I can find.

Yes, I'm interested. I will research more on keyboard hooks to see what i can find. My research for locking out the print screen button has not gone so well. the few examples I have found dont work for me.

Shg is right about focus though, if excel window is in the back ground they can still use the print screen. I was thinking maybe I can force the window to stay full screen and remove all the command bars. Something to try.

Let me know what you come up with on the hooks. I will keep looking on this end as well...

    Thank You, Mike

That seems to work. You were right that is some interesting code.

I was looking everywhere for something like this. It even seems to work when the workbook is in the back ground. It's like the print screen is gone completely...

    I will continue to test.

You have been a great help!!!

Thank You & Happy New Year!!! , Mike
