Talking Possible to send scroll up / down to external app?

Do any of you know if it's possible to send a scroll up / down to another app, perhaps in some fashion similar to send keys?

I'm essentially pulling data from a proprietary UI into a spreadsheet where I can manipulate the data...the problem is that some of the pages have a table on the bottom half of the page with a vertical scrollbar - and I can't seem to get to the lines which are out of view.

    Thanks for any guidance!

    Hello JP,

That's some pretty sketchy description there. What is the user interface? Is it Excel, another program, a web based app, or something else? What about the tables? Are they separate controls, part of a worksheet... ad nauseam? If you really want an answer then you have to provide the details.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

Thanks... appreciate it. I'll try to clarify, though it may be fairly tough. The difficulty is that it's not something I can get visibility into. Not even sure what the programming language is - in fact, I believe there are multiple. This software has thousands of three and four character mnemonics users run to obtain various types of financial data. When they run a mnemonic, they're presented with a screen like the one I'm going to attach.

This company created it and sells / rents multi panel PC's with the applicable software loaded... trying to get into the code is NOT tolerated well here, and it's protected like the Arc of the Covenant.

Anyway, for argument sake, any idea how it would be done for an IE page? Perhaps even this one?

    Hello JP,

Thanks for the picture. Not knowing what the software is, I can't really say if it is possible. The program could be a stand alone, in which case, the answer would be no. If it was created according to Windows programming guidelines for COM then I would have to say it is probable. There just isn't enough information to say for certain either way.

With web pages, it is possible to extract information. How that is done depends on the web browser used. Internet Explorer can be programmed to extract information from a web page. Knowing what you're after is only part of the battle. Programming IE is not easy, especially if you have never done it before. The documentation that exists, such as it is, tends to be cryptic. Not sure if that is by design or not, but it doesn't make the job any easier.

    Thanks...I figured it'd be a long shot.
I just sent a message to the programmer who created the page to see if he can help me out. Since I'm working nights and he's in during regular hours, I feel a little safer doing so :-)

Appreciate your time and feedback, as always!

    Regards, JP
