I'm intrigued - why do you need to know, and what exactly did you mean by "dependent on the OS"?
Everyone who confuses correlation and causation ends up dead.
Maybe you can make use of John's approach of scanning the Font list in excel.

I have a macro that is font dependant for GD&T characters and the software is ran on any of the mentioned OS's. I dont think all font files are in the same folder location on each OS, I know NT and Vista are not.
In my macro I want to prompt the user when they select a specific font if the font is not on there system.
I am not familiar with GD&T, only G&T, so I'll take your word for it.
Andy and shg, thanks. Both examples work.
Now, which to use, which to use.![]()
GD&T = Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. There are many types of fonts available for use, I make use of three of them and can adapt to most any one available. If one doesnt have the font the text is generally unreadable gibberish.
Thanks to all whom contributed.
