    Calculate slowing sheet

    HI,

    If the below formula is activated - e.g. something is put into cell f8 or g8, the I get the word calculate in the bottom left hand size of the s/sheet.

    Anyone know how i can over come this?

    Thanks

    Antony

    Re: Calculate slowing sheet

    Hi antony,

    it looks as if this code has not been copied from a cell, but rather typed directly in the thread. What is in cells F8, G8, A1, A8??

    Slowness of calculation can be due to large amounts of data and/or volatile functions feedint the underlying cells.

    Care to post an example?

    What this formulae is supposed to do?
    Is is just concatenating related cells' contentents or smth else?

    See if calculation is put manual in Excel. If yes then change it to automatic

    2007 excel
    formulas->calculation options->automatic

    older versions
    tools->options->calculation->automatic

    You can also try the following (got from John Walkenbach's book)

    F9 calculate the formulas (all open workbooks)

    shft+F9 calculate the formulas of active workbook

    ctrl+alt+F9 force a recalculation in all open workbooks

    ctrl+shft+alt+F9 recheck al the dependent formulas and force a recalculation on all open workbooks

    rgds
