A big ask! form control question

    Hi
I have a form with a simple data validation drop down box where the user can select numbers 1 - 10. My question is, can I have control on the box so that only people with a password are able to select numbers 1 and 2?

Many thanks in advance for any help on this one.

    Mario

Data validation with password is not built into Excel. But you can do this with macros. See attached for an example. The password in this case is abc.

Note that this particular example is not very secure, and the user must allow macros to run for this to work, so it can be easily defeated.

Great stuff, thanks so much. In true Columbo fashion, there is just one more thing.....

Once they enter the password (and it is correct) is there a way of getting the inputbox to ask for a name and enter that data into a cell?

It could be done with another inputbox but I created a new form, which is a better way to present it to the user. Same warnings apply.

Always better to get all requirements on the table up front....Kojak might be a better model than Columbo
