    CDO question

I am trying to use the code from this site http://www.rondebruin.nl/cdo.htm

Please Login or Register to view this content.
I am getting this error: Run-time error 21472209575

The message could not be sent to the SMPT server. The transport error code was 0x80040217. The server response was not available.

I do have an Outlook account and have tried to run the code after disabling my firewall.

    Any suggestions on the problem?

    Re: CDO question

    Hello Bob,

CDO can be tricky to work with because you are now responsible for all the network setups. It could be the port number is wrong. If you are not connecting through a secure port the SMTP port number is 25. If you are connecting through a secure port (https protocol) the port number is 465.
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
