Solver Macro Crashes excel

When I run a group of macros for some reason after the marcro runs and I hit F2 excel crashes.

I have figured out that it is one of the marcros that makes the excel crash. It is only when I run the solver application. The code is below. Any thoughts why hitting F2 after running this marcro would crash the machine??

What happens is that I run the macro above. The macro runs fine and solves the correct value. After it is completed if I hit the "F2" button to edit a cell, excel crashes. I am using Excel 2007.

Removing the quotes on the target value did not make a difference.

Dunno. You could scrub the workbook to the minimum needed to demonstrate the problem and post it.

I will try and do that. I just tried running a similar macro in a new work book and it works fine. I am new to this, do you have anythoughts why this particular workbook would be crashing?

Hi, So I have narrowed my issues down. This is not a macro problem at all. This happens when ever I use solver to solve for a particular cell by changing another specific cell.

I could possibly understand that the solve is to complicated for excel, but the solve function works perfectly and then crashes only once you hit "F2"

Any thoughts or suggestions?!!!

Yes: post a minimal workbook that demonstrates the problem.

And/or try running AppsPro CodeCleaner (Google for).

I understand, but unfortunately the model I am working with I am not allowed to make public. I tried building a simple example but the problem does not occur.

The model basically runs 500 lines of calculations by changing this one variable, so I can only assume it is overloading the solver program.

I wish I could just show the model but I cant, can you think of any work around? I understand it is difficult without seeing the issue.

Hi Folks I have tried all the various suggestions and none seem to have solved my issue.

The problem is after running solver, and the answer has been produced, if I hit F2, excel crashes. It happens on any computer. I have to believe that my workbook is not over loading excel as it is less than 1 MB in size. Just looking for any additional thoughts??????
