Email data from excel to someone in outlook

    hiya,

Just wondering what the best way to do this would be.

I want to take data from a spreadsheet from a few columns and have that then put in an attachment and sent using outlook 2003 to a work colleague. I want the process to be automatic when you click a button, so no type the email address or selecting anything.

Any help on the best way round this

Thanks for any help in advance.

    Lee

It's easy enough to create the email and prepopulate the subject, to, cc, etc. but you can't send it (because that would make it too easy to write self-propagating vba viruses) - the three options around this are lower-level calls to outlook, which I am no good at, ClickYes (google it) or accepting a two-click solution - one click creates email, second sends.

    Is this suitable?

Your first port of call should be: http://www.rondebruin.nl/sendmail.htm

You will also find the OL security issue covered - ie Redemption, ClickYes, CDO - the latter however is unlikely to be viable for you in this instance.

    Hi,

Adapting Ron de Bruin's code http://www.rondebruin.nl/mail/folder2/mail1.htm try something like the following.

Put the email address of the person to whom you wish to send your attachment in a cell named eAddress, change the columns you want to use and the subject and body text as appropriate and run the following macro....
