    Hyperlink doesn't work

I have a hyperlink to "http://www.discovercard.com/" that doesn't work. When I click it I get an error saying "Unable to locate the server or proxy server". But when I cut & paste the address from the hyperlink into my browser (no chance of mistyping), it works fine.

Ok, I guess the problem must be with my browser somehow. I'm using Firefox, anybody else using Firefox and it works for you?

No problems with XL 2007 nor XL 2010 and Firefox 3.5.7.

Can you open any Excel internet hyperlink at all? Are you behind a proxy server?

I get an error saying "Unable to locate the server or proxy server"
Which application delivers that error message? Excel or Firefox?

I have 18 hyperlinks on the same sheet and all but the "Discover" one work fine. Been working for over 2 years. I'm pretty sure that my "Discover" link used to work, but doesn't now.
The error message box has "Microsoft Excel" as it's title, and no window opens in Firefox.

    Re: Hyperlink doesn't work

    Found something that works.
I changed the hyperlink to "https://" from "http://" and now it works. Even though it's being redirected to http:// once it's in the browser, Excel can't find it.
    Any explanation for why?
