Column dependant upon date

I have a column of dates (A) and a column which needs to say yes (B) if a date is greater than 01 October. This formula must not be dependant upon year (wildcard?) as this worksheet will be used year upon year, any ideas?

01 November 2009

Thank you for swift response, I tried this and it did not work, does not even seem to recognise it as a formula, I'm using 2003
