Cell Name length

Hi,
Is there any length limit for the cell names? is there any lenght after wich it makes VBA or the spreadsheet unstable or clumpsy? I´m using Excel 2003

255 characters is the limit.

I didn't say that! Assuming you are using the names in formulas, the longer the name, the more of your formula length limit you are using, and also the longer your formulas (and the larger your workbook).

Nice! Thats exaclty the type of things Im investigating. Dont want to start using long names and in a couple of months see me completely scr_ed !
Do you know the formula lenght limit? any other aspect I should have in mind?

Pre-2007 it's 1024 characters; 8192 thereafter.
Personally I find very long names a pain to actually use.
